11. The Committee took note of the note of the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on " Communication for development programmes in the United Nations system " (A/67/207).

On the proposal of the Chairman, the Committee agreed that the Secretariat prepare a draft decision for the consideration of the Committee by which the Committee would recommend to the General Assembly that it take note of the note of the Secretary-General on the budgetary and financial situation of the United Nations system (Statistical report of the Administrative Committee on Coordination (A/55/525)).

44. The Committee took note of the note of the Secretary-General on progress in the preparation of the report of the Secretary-General on different methodologies that might be used to correct the geographical imbalance in hiring consultants (E/AC.51/2002/3).

In light of the proposal of the representative of Portugal, the Committee agreed to request the Secretariat to prepare a draft decision on that question by which the General Assembly would take note of the note of the Secretary-General (A/57/361) and of the related report of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (A/57/7/Add.3).
