47. Ms. Amoah (Ghana) pointed out that the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Year for the Eradication of Poverty, which was to be discussed on 31 October under agenda item 97 (f), had not yet been issued.

The draft resolution was based on the resolution on the same item adopted at the thirty-fourth session of the Commission for Social Development, and in the drafting account had been taken also of the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Year of the Family, contained in document A/50/370.
٢ - وأضافت قائلة إن مشروع القرار يستند على القرار المتعلق بالبند ذاته الذي اتخذ في الدورة ٣٤ للجنة التنمية الاجتماعية، وقد روعي لدى صياغة المشروع أيضا تقرير اﻷمين العام عن الاحتفال بالسنة الدولية لﻷسرة، الوارد في الوثيقة A/50/370.

39. The European Union had studied with interest the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Year of the Family (A/50/370), and the specific proposals it contained.
٣٩ - وأضاف قائلا إن الاتحاد اﻷوروبي قد درس باهتمام تقرير اﻷمين العام عن الاحتفال بالسنة الدولية لﻷسرة (A/50/370)، والاقتراحات المحددة التي تضمنها.

60. With regard to the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of the International Year of the Family (A/50/370), Bahrain welcomed the efforts made by United Nations institutions and bodies to enhance the role of the family and guarantee the conditions for its social well-being.
٠٦ - أما فيما يخص تقرير اﻷمين العام عن الاحتفال بالسنة الدولية لﻷسرة )(A/50/370 فإن البحرين ترحب بالجهود الحثيثة التي تبذلها مؤسسات وهيئات اﻷمم المتحدة في سبيل النهوض باﻷسرة والقيام بما يضمن لها ظروف الرفاه الاجتماعي.

In the second resolution, entitled “Disarmament Week”, the General Assembly, inter alia, took note of the report of the Secretary-General on the observance of Disarmament Week; and invited the Secretary-General to continue to use the United Nations informational organs as widely as possible to promote better understanding among the world public of disarmament problems and the objectives of Disarmament Week (resolution 50/72 B).
