The Committee has agreed to the following guidelines in order to give indications to States parties on the form and contents of their initial reports.

It welcomed information provided by some States parties that they were in an advanced stage of preparation of their initial reports.

The Committee welcomes the constructive exchange of views with the States parties and takes note that many States parties stated that they were in the process of finalizing the preparation of their initial reports. CONVENTION

21. At its fifty-eighth session, the Committee decided to offer, on a pilot basis, the simplified reporting procedure to those States parties that wished to avail themselves of the procedure for the submission of their periodic reports (but not of their initial reports) as from 1 January 2015, provided that they had submitted an updated common core document dating back no more than five years.
21 - قررت اللجنة، في دورتها الثامنة والخمسين، أن تتيح، على أساس تجريبي، الإجراء المبسط لتقديم التقارير للدول الأطراف التي ترغب في الاستفادة من هذا الإجراء في تقديم تقاريرها الدورية (وليس تقاريرها الأولية) اعتبارا من 1 كانون الثاني/يناير 2015، شريطة أن تكون قد قدمت وثيقة أساسية موحدة مُحدّثة تتناول فترة سابقة لا تزيد على خمس سنوات.

(b) Selection of one or two countries per year where UNDP would focus its efforts with regard to the reporting and implementation process: UNDP could select one or two countries from among those whose reports are due to be examined in an upcoming session, and also from among those which are long overdue in the submission of their initial reports.
