In its resolution 1998/8, the Subcommission decided to establish, for a three-year period, a sessional working group with a mandate to examine the effects of the working methods and activities of transnational corporations on the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights and the right to development, as well as civil and political rights, and to make recommendations in this respect.
