The Consultative Committee on Administrative Questions was of the view that the issue of standards of travel and per diem should be taken up at a later stage since it was essentially only one part of the complex mosaic of travel arrangements in the organizations of the United Nations common system, and that the standards of travel were but one element of travel management and, in particular, the management of travel costs.

7. It was regrettable that ICSC had so far failed to report on standards of travel and per diem as requested in resolution 51/465.
