On that occasion, she had highlighted the major outcomes of the Committee's previous three sessions and noted that a number of States Parties had withdrawn or expressed their intention of withdrawing their reservations to the Convention, which clearly pointed to changing attitudes towards it and a growing acceptance of the principle of the equality of women and men as a universal human rights principle.
