We are confident that, thanks to the recent opening in New York of the Office of the Permanent Observer of IDEA to the United Nations, the organization will enhance its strategic outreach and programmatic relations with the United Nations and be able to liaise with Member States in carrying out its work in the consolidation of democracy.

4. The secretariats of the United Nations and the League of Arab States, as well as the Office of the Permanent Observer for the League of Arab States to the United Nations, have continued to maintain close contacts on matters of mutual concern to the two organizations.
٤ - وواصلت أمانتا اﻷمم المتحدة وجامعة الدول العربية، فضلا عن مكتب المراقب الدائم لجامعة الدول العربية لدى اﻷمم المتحدة اجراء اتصالات وثيقة بشأن المسائل ذات اﻷهمية المشتركة بالنسبة إلى المنظمتين.

He also informed me that, in the light of the aforementioned provisions of the Charter of the International Organization of la Francophonie, the Office of the Permanent Observer of the Agency for Cultural and Technical Cooperation to the United Nations had become the Office of the Permanent Observer of the International Organization of la Francophonie to the United Nations.
