The Diamond Development Initiative continued efforts to further discussions on mechanization in the Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production.

29. The Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production has focused in 2010 on several key issues intended to enhance the capacity-building of the Working Group.

The plenary took note of the discussions in the Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production on fraud and smuggling diamonds; mechanization of artisanal diamond exploration; illegal immigration driven by the artisanal diamond activity; and the implications for the relationship between the participants.

36. As a follow-up to the seminar on enforcement held in Israel, the Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production recommended the organizing of an additional seminar at the subregional level.
36 - في إطار متابعة أعمال الحلقة الدراسية بشأن الإنفاذ التي عقدت في إسرائيل، أوصى الفريق العامل المعني بالإنتاج الحرفي للماس الغريني بتنظيم حلقة دراسية إضافية على المستوى دون الإقليمي.

37. The plenary took note that members of the Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production were concerned about the need to ensure that the production of diamonds meets the expectation of consumers for ethical products in the context of protecting the reputation and value of diamonds.
37 - أحاط الاجتماع العام علما بالقلق الذي يشعر به أعضاء الفريق العامل المعني بالإنتاج الحرفي للماس الغريني بشأن الحاجة إلى التأكد من أن إنتاج الماس يلبي توقعات المستهلكين للحصول على منتجات تراعى فيها الاعتبارات الأخلاقية في سياق حماية سمعة الماس وقيمته.

26. The Plenary took note of the presentation on development of diamond standards by Diamond Development Initiative to the Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production, encouraging participating members to adopt these standards on a voluntary basis.
٢٦ - أحاط الاجتماع العام علما بالعرض الذي قدمته مبادرة تطوير قطاع الماس عن وضع معايير للماس إلى الفريق العامل المعني بالإنتاج الحرفي للماس الغريني، وشجع الأعضاء المشاركين على اعتماد هذه المعايير على أساس طوعي.

201. The Government of Liberia and its neighbours should continue to pursue regional harmonization approaches to challenges such as tax regimes and undocumented trade flows through various forums, including the Mano River Union and the Kimberley Process Working Group on Artisanal and Alluvial Production.
