Turning to agenda item 100 (e), he recalled that Nicaragua, which had abolished the death penalty, fully supported instruments which provided for its abolition and that it had been one of the countries that had requested the inclusion of item 100 (e) on the agenda of the forty-ninth session of the General Assembly.
