17. On 17 July 2002, in response to a complaint by Eritrea that Ethiopian nationals were being settled in Dembe Mengul on the Eritrean side of the border as determined by the Commission, the Commission made an Order requiring Ethiopia to withdraw those nationals from that village.

13. Although the reduction in troop strength has been implemented, the mandate of the Mission is unchanged. Nevertheless, in response to this development and in view of the restrictions imposed by one of the host countries, the Public Information Office relocated most of the Press and Publications Unit from Asmara to Addis Ababa, thereby limiting coverage of its activities on the Eritrean side.
