In connection with this request for an extension of Judge Ostrovsky's term of office, I note that another judge from the Russian Federation, Judge Serguei Aleckseievich Egorov, has been elected to serve on the International Tribunal for Rwanda.
وفيما يتعلق بهذا الطلب بتمديد فترة ولاية القاضي أوستروفسكي، أشير إلى أن قاضيا آخر من الاتحاد الروسي، هو القاضي سيرغاي ألكسيفيتش إيغوروف، قد انتُخب للخدمة في المحكمة الدولية لرواندا.

In the fifth ballot, having obtained the required majority, Mr. Lloyd George Williams (Jamaica and Saint Kitts and Nevis) was elected to serve on the International Tribunal for Rwanda.

11. Finally, in June 2001, the Registrar established a Review Panel on the International Tribunal for Rwanda legal aid scheme with a mandate to review the legal aid scheme of the Tribunal and make recommendations to the Registrar on how the legal aid regime might be improved in order to ensure efficient use of resources and the protection of the integrity of the Tribunal's judicial process.

In the first ballot, having obtained the required majority, Mr. Pavel Dolenc (Slovenia), Mr. Mehmet Güney (Turkey), Mr. Laïty Kama (Senegal), Mr. Dionysios Kondylis (Greece), Mr. Erik Møse (Norway), Mr. Yakov Ostrovsky (Russian Federation), Ms. Navanethem Pillay (South Africa) and Mr. William Sekule (United Republic of Tanzania) were elected to serve on the International Tribunal for Rwanda.
وفي الاقتراع اﻷول، ونظرا لحصول كل من السيد بافل دولنش )سلوفينيا(، والسيد محمد غوني )تركيا(، والسيد لايتي كاما )السنغال(، والسيد ديونيسيوس كونديلس )اليونان(، والسيد إيرك موشيه )النرويج(، والسيد ياكوف أوستروفسكي )الاتحاد الروسي(، والسيدة نافانثم بيلاي )جنوب أفريقيا(، والسيد وليام سيكوله )جمهورية تنزانيا المتحدة( على اﻷغلبية المطلوبة، فقد انتخبوا للعمل في المحكمة الدولية لرواندا.

In this connection, I would draw the attention of the Security Council to paragraph 3 (c) of article 12 of the statute, which provides in relevant part as follows: " From the nominations received, the Security Council shall establish a list of not less than eighteen and not more than twenty-seven candidates, taking due account of adequate representation on the International Tribunal for Rwanda of the principal legal systems of the world " .
وبهذا الصدد، أود أن أوجه اهتمام مجلس اﻷمن إلى الفقرة ٣ )ج( من المادة ٢١ من النظام اﻷساسي، التي تنص في الجزء ذي الصلة على ما يلي: " ويضع مجلس اﻷمن من الترشيحات التي يتلقاها قائمة تتضمن ما لا يقل عن ثمانية عشر وما لا يزيد عن سبعة وعشرين مرشحا، على أن يولى الاعتبار الواجب للتمثيل الكافي في المحكمة الدولية لرواندا لﻷنظمة القانونية الرئيسية في العالم " .

" (c) The Secretary-General shall forward the nominations received to the Security Council. From the nominations received the Security Council shall establish a list of not less than twenty-two and not more than thirty-three candidates, taking due account of the adequate representation on the International Tribunal for Rwanda of the principal legal systems of the world;
" (ج) يرسل الأمين العام إلى مجلس الأمن الترشيحات التي ترد إليه؛ ويضع مجلس الأمن قائمة تتضمن ما لا يقل عن اثنين وعشرين وما لا يزيد على ثلاثة وثلاثين من المرشحين يختارهم من قائمة الترشيحات التي ترد إليه، على أن يولى الاعتبار الواجب للتمثيل الكافي في المحكمة الدولية لرواندا للنظم القانونية الرئيسية في العالم؛
