The decision on the “Principles and objectives for nuclear non—proliferation and disarmament” taken in the 1995 NPT Review and Extension Conference contains a programme of action.

6. Nigeria reiterated its support for the Final Document of the 2000 Conference, in particular the 13 practical steps contained therein, the decision on the principles and objectives for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, and the resolution adopted at the 1995 Conference.
6 - وكرر إعراب نيجيريا عن تأييدها للوثيقة الختامية لمؤتمر عام 2000، لا سيما الخطوات العملية الـثلاث عشرة التي وردت فيه، والمقرر المتعلق بمبادئ وأهداف منع انتشار السلاح النووي ونزعه، والقرار الذي اعتمده مؤتمر عام 1995.

12. The said decision, which was taken under pressure from the United States, is also a violation of the commitment of the nuclear-weapon States under the 1995 decision on the principles and objectives for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament and the Final Document adopted at the 2000 Review Conference to promote the universality of the Treaty.
12 - والقرار المذكور، المتخذ بضغط من الولايات المتحدة، يشكل أيضا انتهاكا لالتزام الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية بموجب قرار عام 1995 المتعلق بمبادئ وأهداف عدم الانتشار ونزع السلاح النوويين والوثيقة الختامية المعتمدة خلال مؤتمر استعراض المعاهدة عام 2000 من أجل تعزيز عالمية المعاهدة.

It must be recalled that the decision to extend the Treaty indefinitely was taken in an overall context that included a decision on the strengthening of the Treaty review process, a decision on the principles and objectives for nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, a decision on the indefinite extension of the Treaty and a resolution on the establishment of a zone free of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East.
