14. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated that it has launched major initiatives to resolve the problem of persons missing as a result of armed conflict or internal violence and to assist their families.

The Meeting noted the continued relevance of international humanitarian law to the appropriate functioning of criminal justice systems, especially when those systems were called upon to confront complex forms of criminal activity, such as organized crime or acts of terrorism when arising or committed in situations of armed conflict or internal violence.
39- ولاحظ الاجتماع أن القانون الإنساني الدولي لا يزال وثيق الصلة بسير نُظم العدالة الجنائية على نحو مناسب، وخصوصا عند اللجوء إلى تلك النُظم لأجل مواجهة أشكال معقّدة من النشاط الإجرامي، مثل الجريمة المنظمة أو الأعمال الإرهابية حين تنشأ أو تُرتكب في حالات النـزاع المسلّح أو العنف الداخلي.

OHCHR participated actively in the consultative process culminating in the international conference entitled " The Missing - Action to resolve the problem of people unaccounted for as a result of armed conflict or internal violence and to assist their families " , organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from 19 to 21 February 2003.
11- وشاركت المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان بنشاط في العملية الاستشارية التي تكللت بعقد المؤتمر الدولي المعنون " المفقودون - العمل على حل مشكلة غير المعروف مصيرهم نتيجة النزاع المسلح أو العنف الداخلي ومساعدة أسرهم " ، الذي نظمته لجنة الصليب الأحمر الدولية في الفترة من 19 إلى 21 شباط/فبراير 2003.

Bearing in mind the operational best practices regarding the management of human remains and information on the dead contained in the report of the International Committee of the Red Cross entitled The Missing and their Families: Action to resolve the problem of people unaccounted for as a result of armed conflict or internal violence and to assist their families (03/IC/10),
وإذ تأخذ بعين الاعتبار أفضل الممارسات العملية فيما يتعلق بالتصرف في رفات البشر والمعلومات المتعلقة بالأموات الواردة في تقرير لجنة الصليب الأحمر الدولية المعنون " المفقودون وأسرهم: العمل على حل مشكلة غير المعروف مصيرهم نتيجة للنزاع المسلح أو العنف الداخلي ومساعدة أسرهم " (03/IC/10)،

In addition to last year's publications, ICRC published a legal, ethical and practical guide relating to the use of DNA and the identification of human remains in contexts of armed conflict or internal violence at the end of 2005.
وبالإضافة إلى منشورات العام الماضي، أصدرت اللجنة قرب نهاية عام 2005 دليلا قانونيا وأخلاقيا وعمليا عن استخدام الحمض الخلوي النووي (DNA) وتحديد هوية الأشلاء البشرية في سياق الصراع المسلح أو العنف الداخلي.
