The meeting discussed the proposal for a set of global indicators to measure the scope, prevalence and incidence of violence against women, put forward by the expert group meeting convened by the Division for the Advancement of Women, the Economic Commission for Europe and the Statistics Division of the United Nations, in collaboration with the other four regional commissions, in October 2007.
