Where a person exercising statutory authority acts for an improper purpose or in bad faith, including acts of corruption, his or her decisions or actions can be challenged in court by way of an application for judicial review.

74. Act No. 18 requires the person exercising parental authority to treat the child as his parental or family responsibilities and position as upbringer dictate. Parental authority is withdrawn or suspended when the person exercising it acts negligently or in a manner prejudicial to the child as follows:

If the bride or groom have not yet reached the age of majority, the consent of the person exercising parental authority is necessary for the marriage to be contracted.
وإذا كانت العروس أو العريس دون سن البلوغ، فلا بد عندئذ من موافقة الشخص الذي يمارس السلطة الأبوية لكي يتم عقد الزواج.
