The Planning and Development Service will operate under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Resources Management.

In the context of the reorganization of the Office, the functions of the Planning and Development Service relating to human resources planning were merged with those of the information systems unit in order to derive maximum benefit from the implementation of the Integrated Management Information System.

The development of a staff rotation policy needs to be re-examined and incorporated into the career development and promotion policies being prepared by the newly established Planning and Development Service of the Office of Human Resources Management.
وثمة حاجة إلى إعادة النظر في وضع سياسة لتناوب الموظفين وإلى إدراج هذه السياسة ضمن بسياسات التطوير الوظيفي والترقية التي تعدها اﻵن دائرة التخطيط والتطوير التي أنشئت مؤخرا في مكتب إدارة الموارد البشرية.

In carrying out its functions, the Office will interact with the operational clusters on appointment, placement and promotion of women, with the Planning and Development Service on career growth and succession planning and with the Specialist Services Division on integrating women in rosters.
وسيقوم المكتب، لدى اضطلاعه بمهامه، بالتفاعل مع المجموعات التنفيذية المعنية بتوظيف المرأة وتنسيبها وترقيتها، ومع دائرة التخطيط والتطوير بشأن النمو الوظيفي والتخطيط التعاقبي، ومع شعبة خدمات الاخصائيين بشأن إدماج المرأة في القوائم.

The objective of the Planning and Development Service is to conceive, design and introduce integrated human resources management policies and practices in support of the stated goal of the Secretary-General to develop and implement a modern human resources management system more responsive to the spirit of the Charter and the evolving mandates given to the Organization by Member States.
والهدف من دائرة التخطيط والتطوير هو تصور وتصميم واستحداث سياسات وممارسات متكاملة في مجال إدارة الموارد البشرية لدعم الهدف المعلن لﻷمين العام والمتمثل في وضع وتنفيذ نظام عصري ﻹدارة الموارد البشرية أكثر استجابة لروح الميثاق وللولايات المتطورة الموكولة الى المنظمة من قبل الدول اﻷعضاء.

27C.22 To enhance its effectiveness, it was decided in the context of further reorganization of the Office in 1996, that those functions of the Planning and Development Service related to human resources planning, performance management, career development and staff development and training services should be integrated within the Operational Services Division and the Specialist Services Division.
