2. For polymetallic sulphides or cobalt crusts the exploration area shall consist of contiguous blocks.

If a prospector or contractor finds resources in the Area other than polymetallic sulphides or cobalt crusts, the prospecting and exploration for and exploitation of such resources shall be subject to the rules, regulations and procedures of the Authority relating to such resources in accordance with the Convention and the Agreement.
