The international community, acting under the pretext of the protection of the right of peoples to self-determination, prematurely recognized the secessionist republics.

From some angles, the noble objectives of protection of the right of the peoples could be reduced to the level of primitive separatism which constituted a threat not only to the highest ideals of human rights but also to the achievement of international stability and security.
