The General Assembly, in paragraph 17 of part II of its resolution 52/220 of 22 December 1997, invited the Secretary-General to propose measures to improve the profitability of the commercial activities of the United Nations, in particular the sale of publications at Geneva, and, where appropriate, to develop new income-generating measures.
