The purpose of the clean development mechanism shall be to assist Parties not included in Annex I in achieving sustainable development and in contributing to the ultimate objective of the Convention, and to assist Parties included in Annex I in achieving compliance with their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3.
2- يكون الغرض من آلية التنمية النظيفة هو مساعدة الأطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق الأول على تحقيق التنمية المستدامة والإسهام في الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية، ومساعدة الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق الأول على الامتثال لالتزاماتها بتحديد وخفض الانبعاثات كميا وفقاً للمادة 3.

The purpose of the clean development mechanism shall be to assist Parties not included in Annex I in achieving sustainable development and in contributing to the ultimate objective of the Convention, and to assist Parties included in Annex I in achieving compliance with their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3.
٢- يكون الغرض من آلية التنمية النظيفة هو مساعدة اﻷطراف غير المدرجة في المرفق اﻷول على تحقيق التنمية المستدامة واﻹسهام في الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية، ومساعدة اﻷطراف المدرجة في المرفق اﻷول على الامتثال لالتزاماتها بتحديد وخفض الانبعاثات كميا وفقاً للمادة ٣.

Replace Article 12, paragraph 2, with: The purpose of the clean development mechanism shall be to promote nationally appropriate mitigation actions by Parties included in Annex C and assist such Parties in achieving sustainable development and in contributing to the ultimate objective of the Convention, and to assist Parties included in Annex I in meeting their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3, paragraph 1;
(ب) يستعاض عن الفقرة 2 من المادة 12 بما يلي: الغرض من آلية التنمية النظيفة هو تعزيز إجراءات التخفيف المناسبة وطنياً التي تتخذها الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق جيم ومساعدة هذه الأطراف في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وفي المساهمة في بلوغ الهدف النهائي للاتفاقية، ومساعدة الأطراف المدرجة في المرفق الأول في الوفاء بالتزاماتها الكمية بتحديد وخفض الانبعاثات بموجب الفقرة 1 من المادة 3؛
