I am pleased to note that the international community is converging on ways forward, particularly in combating racism in sports and strengthening the procedures of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

14. The Special Rapporteur would like to clarify that racism in sports is only one manifestation of discrimination and exclusion directed at persons and groups on the basis of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
