Among other things, it would facilitate measures relating to the prosecution of terrorists and the strengthening of the institutional capacity of States, especially small States.

The Committee regrets that it did not receive sufficient information relating to the prosecution of authors of domestic violence, and also notes that the State party has not adopted any special legislation with regard to domestic violence within the legal system.

23. Victim and witness protection, particularly relating to the prosecution of gender-based crimes, remains critical to the success of prosecutions of perpetrators, and yet very few resources and very little expertise are allocated for these key requirements.
23 - وما انفكت حماية الضحايا والشهود، ولا سيما في إطار المحاكمة على الجرائم المرتكزة على نوع الجنس، تشكل أمرا حاسما في نجاح محاكمة مقترفي تلك الجرائم، ومع ذلك فإن الموارد والخبرة المرصدة لهذين المتطلبين الرئيسيين شحيحة جدا.

42. The Committee, while welcoming the effort made by the State party to transmit information relating to the prosecution of State officials responsible for violations of human rights, is concerned about reports of the impunity of perpetrators of acts of torture.
42- وإذ تقدِّر اللجنة الجهود التي تبذلها الدولة الطرف لتقديم المعلومات المتعلقة بمقاضاة موظفي الدولة المدانين بانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان فإنها تعرب عن قلقها إزاء المعلومات التي تتحدث عن إفلات مرتكبي أعمال التعذيب من العقاب.
