The Committee recalls that the post was established pursuant to General Assembly resolution 62/216 following the conclusion of the work of the Consultative Mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa.

1. Requests the Secretary-General to establish, within existing resources, a consultative mechanism of interested States, in particular African States, for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, and to report thereon to the General Assembly at its sixty-first session;
1 - تطلب إلى الأمين العام أن ينشىء، في حدود الموارد المتاحة، آلية تشاورية من الدول المهتمة، لا سيما الدول الأفريقية، بغرض إعادة تنظيم مركز الأمم المتحدة الإقليمي للسلام ونزع السلاح في أفريقيا، وأن يقدم تقريرا عن ذلك إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الحادية والستين؛

26. The recommendation has been implemented with the successful launch of a seminar for the staff of the Department for Disarmament Affairs on fund-raising resource mobilization and donor relations, and the formation of the Secretary-General's consultative mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa.
26 - وقد نفذت التوصية بالنجاح في تنظيم حلقة دراسية لموظفي إدارة شؤون نزع السلاح عن جمع الأموال وتعبئة الموارد والعلاقات مع المانحين، وإنشاء آلية الأمين العام الاستشارية لإعادة تنظيم مركز الأمم المتحدة الإقليمي للسلام ونزع السلاح في أفريقيا.

10. On disarmament issues, collaboration with the AU is focused on the work of the consultative mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament for Africa established by the Secretary-General pursuant to General Assembly resolution 60/86.

Notes with satisfaction the establishment by the Secretary-General of the Consultative Mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa and its work aimed at enabling the Centre to effectively fulfil its mandate in responding to the demands and needs of Africa in the field of peace and disarmament;

Notes with satisfaction the establishment by the Secretary-General of the Consultative Mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa and its work aimed at enabling the Centre to effectively fulfil its mandate in responding to the demands and needs of Africa in the field of peace and disarmament;

I have the honour to transmit to you the final recommendations of the Consultative Mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa, which Senegal has had the pleasure of chairing (see annex).

3. Notes with appreciation the efforts of the Regional Centre to align its actions with the priorities identified in the recommendations of the Consultative Mechanism for the Reorganization of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa;2
