Ms. Revell (New Zealand), speaking on behalf of Canada, Australia and New Zealand (CANZ), said that while collective action by the international community had made it harder for terrorists to plan, finance and execute attacks, more must be done to address the threat of terrorism comprehensively.

Ms. Revell (New Zealand), speaking on behalf of Canada, Australia and New Zealand (CANZ), said that, while the existing international humanitarian law framework for regulating the conduct of parties in armed conflicts was suitable, it should be strengthened and adapted to the context of contemporary armed conflicts.

Ms. Revell (New Zealand) said that she welcomed further consideration of the most-favoured-nation clause, including its relationship to the core investment disciplines and to fair and equitable treatment and national treatment standards, and endorsed the Study Group's general understanding of the topic and methodologies.

Ms. Revell (New Zealand) introducing draft resolution A/C.6/65/L.20 on behalf of the Bureau, said that the text of the draft resolution was similar to that of General Assembly resolution 64/114 of 2009, with a number of technical updates and amendments and new elements reflecting the work of the Committee during the past session.
