In paragraph 3 of the same section of the resolution, the General Assembly welcomed the steps taken by those bodies that had adjusted their programmes of work in order to achieve the optimum utilization of conference-servicing resources, and requested the Committee on Conferences to continue consultations with the secretariats and bureaux of bodies that underutilized their conference-servicing resources.

It urged the Department to continue to pursue appropriate measures to ensure optimum utilization and fully supported the provision in the draft resolution whereby secretariats and bureaux were invited to pay attention to avoiding late starts and unplanned early endings.

The improvements were due to the closer involvement of meeting planners in the programming of sessions, as well as to the conscientious efforts by secretariats and bureaux to utilize allocated resources more efficiently.
وترجع أوجه التحسن هذه إلى تكثيف مشاركة مخططي الاجتماعات في برمجة الدورات، وإلى الجهود الصادقة التي تبذلها الأمانات والمكاتب من أجل الاستفادة من الموارد بمزيد من الكفاءة.

The improvement had been due to the closer involvement of meeting planners in the programming of sessions and conscientious efforts by secretariats and bureaux to utilize allocated resources more efficiently.

With the same proviso as to the specificity of mandates, it was stated that cooperation and coordination between secretariats and bureaux should be encouraged in order to enhance the implementation of the Copenhagen agenda and the outcome of the twenty-fourth special session of the General Assembly.
