Benin welcomed the unanimous adoption by the Security Council, on 11 April 1995, of its resolution 984 (1995) concerning security assurances against the use of nuclear weapons, but took the view that the resolution did not go far enough to dispel the legitimate fears of the non-nuclear-weapon States, particularly the weaker States.
