Notwithstanding the information provided by the State party concerning some steps taken to acknowledge the abuses against victims of Japan's military sexual slavery practices during the Second World War, the so-called " comfort women " , the Committee remains deeply concerned at the State party's failure to meet its obligations under the Convention while addressing this matter, in particular in relation to:

The Committee is concerned at the inadequate remedies for the victims of sexual violence, including in particular survivors of Japans's military sexual slavery practices during the Second World War and the failure to carry out effective educational and other measures to prevent sexual violence- and gender-based breaches of the Convention.
24- وتعرب اللجنة عن انشغالها حيال عدم كفاية سبل الانتصاف المتاحة لضحايا العنف الجنسي، بمن فيهم على وجه الخصوص الناجين من ممارسات الاستعباد الجنسي التي اتبعها الجيش الياباني أثناء الحرب العالمية الثانية، وحيال عدم تنفيذ تدابير تثقيفية وغيرها من التدابير الفعالة لمنع العنف الجنسي والانتهاكات القائمة على أساس نوع الجنس المتعلقة بالاتفاقية.
