The Universal Declaration of Human Rights provides that the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
وينص الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان على أن الأسرة هي الوحدة الطبيعية الأساسية للمجتمع ولها حق التمتع بحماية المجتمع والدولة.

Article 16 of the Declaration states that " the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State " .

وقــد قــام مؤتمـــر الدوحــة الدولــي للأسرة بدراســة وتحليــل الآثار المترتبة على المادة 16 (3) من الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان، الذي ينص على أن " الأسرة هي الوحدة الطبيعية الأساسية للمجتمع ولها حق التمتع بحماية المجتمع والدولة " .
