In its resolution 24/29, the Human Rights Council decided to extend by two years the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia, and requested the Special Rapporteur to report on the implementation of his mandate to the Council at its twenty-seventh and thirtieth sessions.

The Council also approved the Commission's request to the Special Rapporteur to report on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session and to the Commission at its fifty-first session. It further approved the Commission's request to the Secretary-General to give all necessary assistance to the Special Rapporteur.
