142. The Committee agreed that spin-offs of space technology were yielding substantial benefits in many fields and took note of the efforts in many Member States to develop spin-off benefits of space technology and to disseminate information on such activities to interested countries.
١٤٢ - ووافقت اللجنة على أن النتائج العرضية لتكنولوجيا الفضاء تحقق منافع كبيرة في كثير من الميادين، وأحاطت علما بالجهود المبذولة في كثير من الدول اﻷعضاء لتنمية الفوائد العرضية لتكنولوجيا الفضاء ولتعميم المعلومات عن هذه اﻷنشطة على البلدان المهتمة.

321- واتَّفقت اللجنة على أنَّ الفوائد العرَضية لتكنولوجيا الفضاء تشكِّل محرِّكاً قويًّا للابتكار التكنولوجي والنمو في القطاع الصناعي وقطاع الخدمات على السواء وأن من الممكن والمفيد أن تُستخدم لتحقيق أهداف اجتماعية واقتصادية ولتطوير البنى التحتية الوطنية في مجال الاتصالات، كما يمكن أن تُستخدم في المشاريع الرامية إلى تحقيق التنمية المستدامة.

Other areas that the Programme would promote included developing capability in enabling technologies, such as the use of global navigation and positioning satellite systems, spin-offs of space technology, promoting the participation of youth in space activities, applications of small satellites and micro-satellites and promoting the participation of private industry in activities of the Programme.

Remote sensing is a rapidly growing technology and is one of the important spin-offs of space applications and space science, having evolved into a discipline working side by side with other disciplines such as photogrammetry, cartography, geodetic reference systems, global navigation satellite systems and GIS.

It noted that spin-offs of space technology were providing, among other things, new techniques for industrial measurement and control, image and data processing, the medical field, computer systems, robotics, power generation, special materials and chemicals, water treatment, public safety, consumer goods, manufacturing and refrigeration.

320- ولاحظت اللجنة أنَّ الفوائد العرَضية لتكنولوجيا الفضاء لها أهمية بالغة في توفير الرعاية الصحية في الوقت المناسب، وتُسهم إسهاماً كبيراً في الجهود التي تبذلها البلدان النامية في هذا المجال، إذ تُعزِّز إمكانية الحصول على خدمات الاتصالات المتعلقة بدراسة الأوبئة عن بُعْد والتطبيب عن بُعْد، وفي إدارة رسم الخرائط والمسوح الجيولوجية، ممَّا يفضى إلى تعزيز حماية الحقوق في الأراضي.

323- واتَّفقت اللجنة على أنه ينبغي مواصلة الترويج للفوائد العرَضية لتكنولوجيا الفضاء، لأنها ساعدت على استحداث تكنولوجيات مبتكرة في قطاعات أخرى، ممَّا أفضى إلى النهوض بالاقتصادات وأسهم في تحسين مستوى العيش.
