The Spousal Violence Prevention Act stipulates that temporary protection for victims of spousal violence and their accompanying family members shall be provided directly by the Women's Consulting Offices that are located in each of the 47 prefectures or shall be entrusted to parties that meet the criteria specified by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare.
