The Supreme Council reiterated its steadfast support for the right of the State of the United Arab Emirates to its three islands and to their territorial waters, airspace, continental shelf and the exclusive economic zone, since they are an integral part of the State of the United Arab Emirates.

1. The State of the United Arab Emirates joined the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 11 November 1997. On 31 May 2002, it submitted its first report, which appears in CRC/C/78/Add.2.

32. The State of the United Arab Emirates has complied with the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child since joining the Convention on 15 December 1996 while expressing the following reservations to several articles of the Convention that conflict with national legislation:
32- التزمت دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة بأحكام ونصوص اتفاقية حقوق الطفل من تاريخ الانضمام إليها في 15 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1996، مع إبداء تحفظات على بعض المواد التي تتعارض مع التشريعات الوطنية:

The Supreme Council looks forward to meeting at its twenty-fifth session which will be held -- God willing! -- in the Sate of the United Arab Emirates during the month of Dhu`lga`dah A.H. 1425, corresponding to December A.D. 2004, at the kind invitation of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, President of the State of the United Arab Emirates.
ويتطلع المجلس الأعلى إلى اللقاء، في دورته الخامسة والعشرين، إن شاء الله، في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، خلال شهر ذو القعدة من عام 1425 هـ الموافق كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2004 م، وذلك تلبية لدعوة كريمة من حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان، رئيس دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
