The Conference recognizes the growing interest in utilizing the provisions of Article VII of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which affirms the right of any group of States to conclude regional treaties in order to ensure the total absence of nuclear weapons in their respective territories.
٧٣ - يعترف المؤتمر بالاهتمام المتزايد بالاستفادة من أحكام المادة السابعة من معاهدة عدم انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية، التي تؤكد حق أي مجموعة من الدول في إبرام معاهدات إقليمية ضمانا لعدم وجود اﻷسلحة النووية في أراضيها بتاتا.

For the States parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, nuclear-weapon-free zones are an important complementary instrument to the Treaty, article VII of which explicitly recognizes the right of any group of States to conclude regional treaties in order to assure the total absence of nuclear weapons in their respective territories.
١٥ - وبالنسبة للدول اﻷطراف في معاهدة عدم انتشار اﻷسلحة النووية، تعتبر المناطق الخالية من اﻷسلحة النووية أداة تكميلية هامة للمعاهدة التي تقر المادة السابعة فيها بحق أية مجموعة من الدول في إبرام معاهدات إقليمية من أجل التأكد من أن مناطقها خالية تماما من اﻷسلحة النووية.

23. For the States parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, nuclear-weapon-free zones are important complementary instruments to the Treaty, which explicitly recognizes, in article VII, the right of any group of States to conclude regional treaties in order to assure the total absence of nuclear weapons in their respective territories.

22. As a State party to the Treaty of Tlatelolco, which established the first nuclear-weapon-free zone in the world, Uruguay calls on all States to conclude regional treaties in order to ensure the total absence of nuclear weapons in their respective territories. Nuclear-weapon-free zones contribute to the promotion of nuclear disarmament.
