It is to be reiterated that the passivity of the Government of the Sudan in this regard is also unacceptable, taking into account the obligations of Sudan under international law.

On 13 December 2006, a Special Session of the Council was convened on Darfur, at which the Council decided to dispatch a high-level mission to Darfur to assess the human rights situation and the needs of the Sudan in this regard.
وفي 13 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2006، عُقدت جلسة خاصة لمجلس حقوق الإنسان عن دارفور، اتخذ فيها قرار يدعو إلى إرسال بعثة رفيعة المستوى إلى دارفور لتقييم حقوق الإنسان واحتياجات السودان في هذا الصدد.

On 13 December 2006, at its fourth special session, the Human Rights Council adopted by consensus decision S-4/101 on the situation of human rights in Darfur, in which it decided to dispatch a High-Level Mission (HLM) with the mandate " to assess the human rights situation in Darfur and the needs of the Sudan in this regard ... and to report to the Council at its fourth session to be held from 12 March to 5 April 2007 " .
