Environmental crimes pose a security and safety threat to many countries and have a significant negative impact on sustainable development and the rule of law.
وتُشكِّل الجرائم البيئية تهديدا لأمن وسلامة الكثير من البلدان ولها تأثير سلبي كبير على التنمية المستدامة وسيادة القانون.

Concerned about the seriousness of problems and threats posed by corruption to the stability and security of societies, undermining the institutions and values of democracy, ethical values and justice and jeopardizing sustainable development and the rule of law,
وإذ تقلقها خطورة ما يطرحه الفساد من مشاكل ومخاطر على استقرار المجتمعات وأمنها، مما يقوّض مؤسسات الديمقراطية وقيمها والقيم الأخلاقية والعدالة، ويعرّض التنمية المستدامة وسيادة القانون للخطر،

Crimes of corruption have a wide range of harmful effects on society, threatening its stability and putting democratic institutions, justice, sustainable development and the rule of law in jeopardy.
إنَّ جرائم الفساد يترتَّب عليها نطاق واسع من الآثار الضارة في المجتمعات، حيث تهدّد استقرارها وتُعرِّض المؤسسات الديمقراطية وقيم العدالة والتنمية المستدامة وسيادة القانون للخطر.

He noted that the adoption of the convention would demonstrate the strong will of the international community to fight corruption, which was a barrier to sustainable development and the rule of law.
وأشار الى أن اعتماد الاتفاقية سوف يثبت أن المجتمع الدولي عازم بقوة على مكافحة الفساد، الذي يمثل عائقا أمام التنمية المستدامة وسيادة القانون.
