1. Recommends that a special trust fund for activities in the area of science and technology for development be established within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, with a view to assisting in implementing various mandates received or to be received by the Conference in the area of science and technology for development;
1 - يوصي بإنشاء صندوق اسئتماني خاص بالأنشطة في مجال تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا لأغراض التنمية، في إطار مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتجارة والتنمية، بغية المساعدة في تنفيذ الولايات المختلفة الموكلة، أو التي ستوكل، إلى المؤتمر في مجال تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا لأغراض التنمية؛

2. Also invites the Economic and Social Council to consider favourably the request of the Commission to establish a working group, to meet during the regular sessions of the Commission, for the purpose of evaluating the work of the Commission, with a view to strengthening the role of the Commission in the United Nations system in the area of science and technology for development and increasing its effectiveness;

6. Encourages the United Nations system to take advantage of the coordinating role and expertise of the Commission in the area of science and technology for development, where possible, in the follow-up to and preparation for major international conferences and summits;
6 - تشجع منظومة الأمم المتحدة على أن تستفيد من دور اللجنة التنسيقي وخبرتها في مجال تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا لأغراض التنمية، حيثما أمكن ذلك، في متابعة المؤتمرات الدولية الرئيسية ومؤتمرات القمة والتحضير لها؛

Noting that no global framework or comprehensive agreement currently existed in the area of science and technology for development, he said that the establishment of a technology bank and science, technology and innovation supporting mechanism dedicated to the least developed countries would help to foster the development of endogenous science and capacity-building and might even support structural transformation.

3. Recognizes the role of the Commission in coordinating the activities of the United Nations system in the area of science and technology for development, emphasizes the importance of the activities that are to be pursued within the framework of the Commission, including a broad spectrum of new global challenges in science and technology, and encourages support to these undertakings;
٣ - تقر بالدور الذي تقوم به اللجنة في تنسيق أنشطة منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان تسخير العلم والتكنولوجيا ﻷغراض التنمية، وتؤكد أهمية اﻷنشطة التي سيجري السعي لتحقيقها في إطار اللجنة، بما في ذلك طائفة واسعة من التحديات العالمية الجديدة في ميدان العلم والتكنولوجيا، وتشجع على دعم هذه المساعي؛

4. The findings regarding the quality of support extended to the developing countries of Asia and the Pacific in the area of science and technology for development were very positive.
