This was a proposal that we presented at the first session of the Forum.

1. Pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 6/15, the first session of the Forum on Minority Issues will be held in Geneva on 15 and 16 December 2008.
1- عملاً بقرار مجلس حقوق الإنسان 6/15، ستُعقد الدورة الأولى للمحفل المعني بقضايا الأقليات في جنيف يومي 15 و16 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2008.

A representative also attended the first session of the Forum on Business and Human Rights, held in Geneva in December 2012.

That Office has been designated as the lead agency for the preparation of the Forum and will utilize its substantive expertise on indigenous issues and its experience in servicing the first session of the Forum.

10. The Board appreciated the fact that, thanks to the statement made by the Chairperson at the first session of the Forum, a number of participants expressed interest in the activities of the Fund, including donors.
10- أعرب المجلس عن تقديره لاهتمام عدد من المشاركين بأنشطة الصندوق بمن فيهم المتبرعون، بفضل البيان الذي أدلى به الرئيس خلال الدورة الأولى للمنتدى.

We were particularly pleased that Viktória Mohácsi, a Hungarian member of the European Parliament has been nominated to chair the first session of the Forum in December 2008.

13 - ومثل السيد كارياواسام اللجنة في الدورة الأولى للمحفل المعني بقضايا الأقليات، المنشأ بموجب قرار مجلس حقوق الإنسان، المعقودة بمكتب الأمم المتحدة بجنيف يومي 15 و 16 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2008، والتي ركزت على المسائل المتعلقة بالتعليم.

13. Mr. Kariyawasam represented the Committee at the first session of the Forum on Minority Issues, established by the Human Rights Council, held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, on 15 and 16 December 2008, which focused on matters of education.

In accordance with this requirement, the President of the Human Rights Council appointed Ms. Viktória Mohácsi of Hungary and of Roma minority origin as the Chairperson of the first session of the Forum.
