Under article 22 of the Constitution, the Supreme Court is bound to provide equality before the law and non-discrimination in the handling of its cases, regardless of wealth, status, religion, political beliefs, tribal origin or sex.

2. UNESCO took part in the Seminar on exclusion, equality before the law and non-discrimination organized by the Secretariat of the Council of Europe in collaboration with Intercentre of Messina, at Taormina-Mare (Italy), from 29 September to 1 October 1994.
٢- وقد اشتركت اليونسكو في حلقة دراسية حول " الاقصاء والمساواة أمام القانون وعدم التمييز " نظمتها اﻷمانة العامة لمجلس أوروبا بالتعاون مع مركز مسينا الدولي في تاورمينا - ماري )ايطاليا( في الفترة من ٩٢ أيلول/سبتمبر الى ١ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ٤٩٩١.

Article 34 provides that " Citizens are equal in rights and duties " , while article 35 guarantees the right to equality before the law and non-discrimination, providing as it does that " All persons are equal before the law and there shall be no discrimination among them on grounds of sex, origin, language or religion " .
حيث نصت المادة 34 على: " المواطنون متساوون في الحقوق والواجبات " ، بينما كفلت المادة 35 الحق في المساواة أمام القانون وعدم التمييز حيث نصت هذه المادة على: " الناس متساوون أمام القانون، لا تمييز بينهم في ذلك بسبب الجنس أو الأصل أو اللغة أو الدين " .

The Constitution requires that the family must be recognised as a fundamental social unit entitled to social protection. Further, section 24 of the Constitution specially protects the rights of women to " full and equal protection by the law " and non-discrimination.
16-2-1- يقضي الدستور بضرورة الاعتراف بالأسرة بوصفها وحدة اجتماعية أساسية تستحق الحماية الاجتماعية(143) كذلك فإن الباب 24 من الدستور يحمي بصفة خاصة حقوق المرأة بالنسبة إلى " الحماية الكاملة والمتساوية التي يكفلها القانون " وعدم التمييز.

The State party notes that in both cases the Human Right Committee found the complaints incompatible ratione materiae with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and declared the communications inadmissible for the reason that titles of nobility lay outside the underlying values behind the principles of equality before the law and non-discrimination protected by article 26 of the International Covenant.
