It is against that background that Botswana, alongside the international community, is fully committed to working in partnership and cooperation with States members of the Kimberley Process to maintain and enhance the credibility of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme and the legitimate diamond trade.

The introduction of rough diamonds into the legitimate diamond trade not only threatens the integrity and credibility of the Kimberley Process but also represents an area of grave concern to the international community.

The plenary took note of plans for the Working Group on Monitoring and the Working Group of Diamonds Experts to further collaborate towards enhancing implementation of vigilance requirements, making use of the Working Group of Diamonds Experts footprint of Ivorian diamonds, in order to protect the legitimate diamond trade.
وأحاط الاجتماع العام علما بخطط الفريق العامل المعني بالرصد والفريق العامل لخبراء الماس لمواصلة التعاون من أجل تعزيز تنفيذ متطلبات اليقظة، والاستفادة من " بصمة " الماس الإيفواري التي حددها الفريق العامل لخبراء الماس، بهدف حماية التجارة المشروعة في الماس.
