In clause 23, the Committee expresses its concern about the Ombudsman's report of December 2005 relating to uninformed and involuntary sterilization of Roma women.

The Committee is particularly concerned about the report, of December 2005, by the Ombudsman (Public Defender) regarding uninformed and involuntary sterilization of Roma women and the lack of urgent Government action to implement the recommendations contained in the Ombudsman's report and to adopt legislative changes on informed consent to sterilization as well as to provide justice for victims of such acts undertaken without consent.

12.32 By letter of 12 April 2005, the State party also provided the summary of the Ombudsman's report, as " background information in full understanding that the execution of the Government's decision to expel the complainant from Sweden is not part of the case now pending before the Committee, which deals with the issue of the diplomatic assurances by Egypt with regard to the complainant " .
