8. The Chair said that, since no candidate had received the required majority, in accordance with rule 94 of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly, an additional ballot would be held, the voting being restricted to the candidates obtaining the greatest number of votes in the previous ballot to a number not more than twice the places remaining to be filled.
8 - الرئيس: قال إن اقتراعا إضافيا سيجرى لعدم حصول أي مرشح على الأغلبية المطلوبة، وذلك وفقا للمادة 94 من النظام الداخلي للجمعية العامة؛ وسيقتصر التصويت على المرشحين الحاصلين على أكبر عدد من الأصوات في الاقتراع السابق، على ألا يتجاوز عددهم ضعف عدد المناصب المتبقية المراد شغلها.

If three such unrestricted ballots are inconclusive, the next three ballots shall be restricted to the candidates who obtained the greatest number of votes in the third of the unrestricted ballots, to a number not more than twice the number of the places remaining to be filled, and the following three ballots thereafter shall be unrestricted, and so on until all the places have been filled.

If the number of candidates obtaining such majority is less than the number of places to be filled, additional ballots shall be held to fill the remaining places, the voting being restricted to the candidates obtaining the greatest number of votes in the previous ballot to a number not more than twice the places remaining to be filled.
2 - إذا كان عدد المرشحين الحاصلين على هذه الأغلبية أقل من عدد المناصب المراد ملؤها، تجرى اقتراعات إضافية لملء المناصب المتبقية، ويقتصر التصويت على المرشحين الحاصلين على أكبر عدد من الأصوات في الاقتراع السابق، على ألا يتجاوز عددهم ضعف عدد المناصب التي لا يزال يتعين ملؤها.
