The African Union Commission and ECA co-chair the Regional Coordination Mechanism for Africa, and other organizations, such as the regional economic commissions, the African Development Bank and the Planning and Coordinating Agency of the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) actively participate in the activities of the Mechanism, as do such United Nations system organizations as the World Bank.
