90. Although the applicability of the principles and rules of humanitarian law and of the principle of neutrality to nuclear weapons is hardly disputed, the conclusions to be drawn from this applicability are, on the other hand, controversial.
٩٠ - ورغم أن انطباق مبادئ القانون اﻹنساني وقواعده ومبادئ الحياد على اﻷسلحة النووية لا يكاد يكون موضع نزاع، فإن الاستنتاجات التي يُخلص إليها من هذا الانطباق هي، من ناحية أخرى، مثار للخلاف.

Malaysia views favourably the decision of the Court that the threat or use of nuclear weapons would generally be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law.

As the Court rightly sees it, the answer to the question asked of it by the General Assembly does not lie alone in a finding that the threat or use of nuclear weapons would be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law.
٣ - وكما ترى المحكمة بحق أن اﻹجابة عن السؤال الذي وجهته إليها الجمعية العامة لا تكمن فقط في الحكم بأن التهديد باﻷسلحة النووية أو استخدامها مخالف لقواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة في النزاع المسلح، وخاصة مبادئ القانون اﻹنساني وقواعده.

25. I do not consider it juridically meaningful to say that the use of nuclear weapons is " generally contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law " .
٢٥ - ولا أعتبر أن هناك أي جدوى قضائية في القول بأن استخدام اﻷسلحة النووية يكون " بصورة عامة مخالفا لقواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة في أوقات النزاع المسلح، وخاصة مبادئ القانون اﻹنساني وقواعده " .

The use of nuclear weapons, the Court said, would generally be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and, in particular, the principles and rules of humanitarian law.
