13. Further to a letter from the Legal Counsel, Ms. Patricia O'Brien, dated 22 June 2011, the deadline for nominations of candidates for election to the roster of judges who could be called to serve on the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals has been extended to Friday, 16 September 2011.
عطفا على رسالة مؤرخة 22 حزيران/يونيه 2011 وجهتها المستشارة القانونية، السيدة باتريشا أوبراين، مُدّد حتى يوم الجمعة 16 أيلول/سبتمبر 2011 الموعد النهائي لتقديم مرشحين لانتخابات الإدراج في قائمة القضاة الذين يمكن استدعاؤهم للخدمة في الآلية الدولية لتصريف الأعمال المتبقية للمحكمتين الجنائيتين.

Any individual who has reached the age of 25, has completed law school and has at least three years of relevant work experience may apply for inclusion on the roster of judges.

The Security Council also requested, in the same resolution, the Secretary-General to initiate no later than 30 June 2011 the procedures for the selection of the roster of judges of the Mechanism, as provided in the statute of the Mechanism, which is contained in annex I to Security Council resolution 1966 (2010).

The qualification board of judges, which is elected by the Supreme Court Plenum for a term of five years, determines, through personal interviews, the results of a qualifying examination and a review of documentation presented, the professional suitability, moral and professional qualities, level of knowledge and world view of the candidates for inclusion on the roster of judges.
وتقوم مجالس اختيار القضاة، التي تنتخبها المحكمة العليا بكامل هيئتها لمدة 5 سنوات، بإجراء مقابلات شخصية وامتحانات تأهيلية، ودراسة المستندات المقدمة، وذلك لتحديد درجة الجدوى المهنية والصفات المعنوية والمهنية ومستوى المعرفة والآراء الخاصة بالمرشحين للانضمام إلى القضاة الاحتياط.
