The representative of the Secretary-General on internally displaced persons, Mr. Francis Deng (Sudan), appointed by the Secretary-General at the request of the Commission on Human Rights in July 1992 to study the human rights issues related to internally displaced persons, was requested by Commission on Human Rights resolutions 1993/95 and 1994/68 to submit annual reports both to the General Assembly and to the Commission.
