In draft resolution II on Palestinian women, the Council would request the Commission on the Status of Women to continue to monitor and take action with regard to the implementation of the Nairobi Forward-looking Strategies for the Advancement of Women, in particular paragraph 260 concerning Palestinian women, and the Beijing Platform for Action.

The General Assembly also requested the Commission on the Status of Women to consider, at its forty-second session, the report of the Secretary-General requested in the resolution, thus enabling the Assembly, through the Economic and Social Council, to decide on the issue at its fifty-second session or as soon as possible.

The Committee must take advantage of its relationship with the Commission on the Status of Women to maintain a relationship with other agencies in the United Nations system and must endeavour to ensure that other human rights bodies and the Centre for Human Rights accorded due importance to its work.
