Therefore, I am proposing to the General Assembly that it approve the President's request and authorize the extension of the mandate and financing of the United Nations component of MICIVIH for one additional year.

8. Recommends to the General Assembly to review all aspects of the mandate and operations of the International Civilian Mission in Haiti in the light of the situation in Haiti and to consider renewing the mandate of the United Nations component of the Mission;

27. Although Mexico was not a sponsor of draft resolution A/50/L.67, it firmly supported the renewal of the mandate of the United Nations component of MICIVIH with the goal of consolidating Haitian institutional reconstruction.
