World Charter for Nature, 1982.78 In the wake of the Stockholm Declaration, in 1982 the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the World Charter for Nature, which similarly sets forth a series of principles for wise management and conservation of the environment, emphasizing the need for laws to recognize and accommodate the laws of nature.
