Provision implemented as from the fifty-eighth session. This provision as well as rules 30 and 99 (a) apply to the election of the President of the General Assembly and the Vice-Presidents.
بدأ تنفيذ الحكم اعتبارا من الدورة الثامنة والخمسين وينطبق هذا الحكم، علاوة على المادتين 30 و 99 (أ) من النظام الداخلي، على انتخاب رئيس الجمعية العامة ونواب الرئيس.

At its thirty-fourth session, the General Assembly decided that the practice of dispensing with the secret ballot for elections to subsidiary organs when the number of candidates corresponded to the number of seats to be filled should become standard and that the same practice should apply to the election of the President of the Assembly, unless a delegation specifically requested a vote on a given election (decision 34/401, para. 16).
وفي الـدورة الرابعـة والثلاثيـن، قـررت الجمعية العامة أن تصبح من قبيل القاعدة ممارسة الاستغناء عن إجراء اقتراع سري لانتخابات أعضـاء الهيئـات الفرعيـة حين يتفق عدد المرشحين مع عدد المقاعد الواجب شغلها، وأن تطبق الممارسة نفسها على انتخاب رئيس الجمعية العامة ما لم يطلب أحد الوفود بالتحديد إجراء التصويت في انتخاب بعينه )المقرر ٤٣/١٠٤، الفقرة ٦١(.
