Furthermore, attributing responsibility to Turkey, which has no jurisdiction in Northern Cyprus, and referring to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as Turkey's " subordinate local administration " can only make the Greek Cypriot administration more intransigent thus rendering your mission of good offices even more difficult to pursue.

It is ironic that the same Greek Cypriot administration, which criticizes visits by Turkish officials to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, has not only frequently hosted officials from Greece in the past, but is currently preparing to host none other than Mr. Costas Simitis, the Prime Minister of Greece.
